Lycoming County United Way Update

A message from Campaign Chair Dr. William J. Martin

As we enter the final stages of our 2013/2014 campaign, I’d like to express my thanks and appreciation for the hundreds of volunteers and the thousands of contributors who have given of their time, talent and treasure in participation of our campaign. To date, $1,295,952 has been raised in support of the 38 community human service programs operating under our umbrella. Unfortunately, we have experienced unforeseen declines in some key workplace campaigns, which leaves us about $300,000 below what is needed to maintain these vital services.

Currently our volunteers are reaching out to those who have yet to contribute to the campaign. If you have not yet done so, I ask for your careful consideration to make a gift that will help us help the more than 25,000 Lycoming County residents touched by United Way-affiliated services. Please contact the United Way office or give online at

Thank all of you for living and giving United!

A message from Executive Director Scott N. Lowery

In welcoming in a new year we pledge to re-confirm our annual resolution to help meet the critical human service needs facing Lycoming County residents. We value the generous gifts and support provided by our most appreciated contributors.

In meeting the new, there remains some old work to do — finalizing the 2013/2014 campaign. We are currently conducting follow-up contacts with contributors from last year’s campaign that we haven’t yet heard from. If you are among the missing, it is not too late to help. Should you wish to make a contribution, please contact the United Way office, 570-323-9448, or view our website,  Your gift goes to work right here at home, with 97% of campaign proceeds staying in Lycoming County.

We are pleased to report membership in our Peter Herdic Society (those individuals contributing $500 or more) continues to grow.

With many of these donors coming from area workplace employee campaigns, we recognize the top five businesses with the most Leadership Donors:

* Kellogg Company, 60

* Pennsylvania College of Technology, 24

* Susquehanna Health, 23

* Larson Design Group, 16

* AutoTrakk, LLC, 15
