Lycoming County United Way, in partnership with the Lycoming County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, is preparing for the 2011 Impact Initiative Grant process. The main focus for this year’s grant(s) is to address the needs of middle school age children (grades five thru eight) by providing programs that encompass the needs of the entire family, especially stability issues and other risk factors, as well as incorporate parental involvement in the program.
Additional criteria include:
* the program must be outcomes-based and show clear performance measures;
* the program must provide a new service or is an enhancement of existing program; and
* the program must show a clear plan to engage parents and youth with continuation and compliance with program activities.
This specific area of need was identified through the 2009 Community Needs Assessment and the PA Youth Survey (PAYS).
Prior to the submission of a grant application, potential applicants must attend a grant Q&A session on Tuesday, July 5, at 3:30 p.m. in the West Branch Drug & Alcohol, 3rd Floor Conference Room, located at 214 West 4th Street. This session is designed to review the application requirements and answer questions as to whether a program would qualify.
